The Future Fox submitted a response to the pivotal proposed reforms to the planning system in England. Having met a couple of Housing Ministers and the Secretary of State Secretary of State for Housing, Communities and Local Government, we wanted to put across our views from insight working in the sector.
Our key viewpoints are:
People want to have their say and need to be encouraged to do so
Digitalisation will make the system more dynamic, but significant effort is needed to make it simple and legible for users
We have concerns about removing the opportunities to consult or engage downstream, at planning application stage
